DMEPOS is an acronym for Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies. The Department of Health and Human Services / Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services are requiring existing Medicare DMEPOS suppliers to be issued a bond amount of $50,000 per National Producer Identifcation.
A Medicare DMEPOS supplier is an entity or individual, including a physician or Part A provider, that sells or rents Part B covered DMEPOS items. Also, they must meet the Medicare DMEPOS supplier standards.
